orn in England -- where he got a passport but not the accent -- and raised in Argentina -- where he got the accent but not a passport -- Marcelo now lives in LA, where he is trying to prove that his homeland exports more than tango and good beef.

Marcelo attended film school in Cordoba, Argentina and went on to produce and direct commercials and music videos. He then came to the U.S. to study at UCLA's world-renowned School of Theater, Film, and Television. Shortly after completing his Master's degree in screenwriting in 2006 he was hired to write "Pretending," the Hollywood remake of a South American film of the same name. Marcelo is now working on the screenplay for the European/Canadian feature film "Dreamland," and on what will be his first film as a Director, "Living and Leaving LA."

His work, both in English and Spanish, has won or placed in twenty-seven competitions, including the Nicholl Fellowship, the Austin Film Festival, the Jack Nicholson Prize in Screenwriting, the British Academy of Film and Television Fellowship, the Sidney Sheldon Award, the WorldFest-Houston Film Festival, the Chesterfield Writers Project, the Texas Film Institute, the Latin USA Film Festival, the Sloan Film Award, the Blue Sky Film Festival, the Garden State Film Festival, the Sperling Comedy Award, the George Burns Comedy Award, the Insight Award, the Action/Cut short film Competition, and the Kurnitz Writing Award.

In his spare time, Marcelo enjoys music and photography. In 2002, his photographic piece "Dove in Rosh Anikra" was awarded the "Visions of Peace" Grand Prize.
